Laser Center and Sirius Presidential classical school are developing the country's first methodology for teaching laser technologies to schoolchildren..
Specialists of the Laser Center supplied SP100 Trotec laser cutting system and MiniMarker-2 laser marking system to the Sirius Presidential classical school to create a training program for the technology subject. Several other strongest Russian schools are equipped with similar markers.
Chief innovations officer of the Laser Center Ivan Fomenko held a methodological seminar on the exchange of experience with the teachers of "Sirius", as well as a master class for students in grades 5 and 6 during the technology lessons.
“Laser technologies have entered all significant spheres of human life. There is not a single detail made without a laser in the mobile phones that you are holding now," Ivan Fomenko told the schoolstudents.
Under the guidance of Ivan Fomenko and Aleksey Chumakov, head of the scientific and educational laboratories of the school, the students tried out the MiniMarker-2 laser marking system. They came up with inscriptions, and put them on special plates, flash drives, pens and key rings:
“At the master class, we introduced children in grades 5 and 6 to laser technology and got them interested in it. We will use the new equipment in laser technology lessons and in after school clubs. Having gotten a general idea, the children will be able to consciously choose a program of additional education and gain deeper knowledge at the clubs. Over time, we will begin to prepare our students for serious competitions like JuniorSkills,” explained Alexey Chumakov.
We should also note that the opening of laser competence in WolrdSkills/Jounior Skills was initiated by Trotec Laser and the Laser Center.
“We are ready to support the school in every possible way and participate in the development of new educational programs,” said the chief innovation officer of the Laser Center. “I hope that we will jointly promulgate the training methods of Sirius all over Russia.”
